David Violi is head of gwp's Geneva office. He is a Swiss-qualified lawyer and holds an LL.M. from the University of Geneva. David Violi has more than twenty years of experience in banking, financial market, insurance, and pension fund regulation. He has acquired this expertise in various management positions, including in the enforcement division of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), as compliance officer at a universal bank, as a lawyer in leading law firms, and as head of risk, regulatory, and compliance at international auditing firms.
He supports our clients in the areas of risk management, regulation, governance, and compliance. His areas of expertise include obtaining licenses, setting up internal governance and control systems, the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), sanctions, FIDLEG/FINIG, and data protection, particularly in connection with IT and cloud transformation projects.
David Violi is fluent in French, English, German, and Italian.
